1970s Disaster Film of the Week: Rollercoaster

Image“You still don’t get it, do you, Harry?”

It’s not about motive or story or anything much more than a bunch of POV shots from the front seat of the coasters. Most of all, “I’m not in this for the kicks.”

Yet, apparently he is. Well, and for the $1Million 1977 cash.

‘Hey, are we in this film or not. I feel like an extra.’

Rollercoaster stars George Segal, Timothy Bottoms, and Henry Fonda among others. Both Helen Hunt and Steve Guttenberg make their film premiers as characters who might as well not be there at all as far as the story goes.

I’m crossing my fingers for Towering Inferno to be on soon to give me something to look forward to next week.

Eh, those ratings are about right. Nothing to write home about, but I’ve seen a lot worse.
